Breaking Free

For the longest time, I have let many different things hold me back from achieving some of the things that I wanted to accomplish.  In addition, it also prevented me from even dreaming that certain things could ever be possible.  However, as I have entered my last year of college, I have decided to make some major changes in my life and not let these things hold me back. While nothing super dramatic has happened, there is a different feeling about life in general.  The sky is brighter and things look much more optimistic.  So no matter what is holding you back, it is possible to start over even in your current circumstances and as scary as it may seem to leave something that is familiar, it will all be worth it in the end.  Here's to many more changes ahead and even brighter days!

Patience

Patience is something I have never been great at.  However, today's events are forcing me to be much more patient than I want to be.  My phone decided to die randomly and I have spent the last four hours driving places and asking questions that no one can answer.  I really just want this resolved since it is a very inconvenient time but I guess I get to learn patience along the way.  I just wish there was an easy solution to this all.  I feel like it shouldn't be this difficult but it is.  But I guess we all have those bad days from time to time.  I'm just glad it wasn't anything worse.

New Adventures

Today I had something hit me... in exactly one year from today, I will be a college graduate.  I didn't spend a ton of time on this thought since it is a scary idea.  School has been my life for so long and while it is a day I am definitely looking forward to, there is a lot of unknowns out there that create a little bit of fear associated with this change in life.  I know I have nothing to complain about since there is still a year and no decisions have to be set in stone anytime soon.  However, it made me think about where I am in life and where I want to go.  I absolutely love my major and am glad that it is such a marketable degree.  But while I love it, there is more that I want out of life than just a career.  The more I look at my life, the more I have a desire to possibly become a teacher.  I don't think that my current degree is a waste by any means but could help me to get a job teaching high school business or something along those lines.  I am super excited for my opportunity to work as an EFY counselor again this summer.  The two weeks I spent last year were exhausting but in the best possible way.  I look forward to it and all the adventures it will bring.  So while I am not making a major transition in life, there are many adventures coming my way in the next little while.  Let's see where this road takes me.

Finish Line = Crossed

I have just completed finals for the eighth time of my college career.  It is a super refreshing feeling especially since I know that there is no more finals until December!  Woo Hoo!!!  I have learned a lot this semester and while I am sad to see my time in college coming to an end, it will be nice to not have finals every four months.  I have been able to accomplish a lot in my life and I am grateful for the education I have received.  Hopefully this summer will be amazing and full of lots of adventures.  (Well it's going to be... I'm working as basically a teenage babysitter... sometimes I wonder what I was thinking.)  I wish I had more to say but my brain is fried between 2-3 hours of studying, 5 hours of taking tests, and working 2 hours I am ready to relax.

Sleep Problems

So I really should be asleep right now... I have the wonderful privilege of needing to be up and on the road in approximately four hours.  However, I was really tired about two hours ago and yet I could not sleep because of registration for classes.  I got registered for my last semester of fall classes ever!!! Yay!!! But now I am not as tired as I was at 10:00... so what do I do? I get on her and blog about it.  Here's the train of thought that got me here.
  • I should check Facebook (check)
  • I should see if the class I registered for tonight is full and really contemplate if my schedule is what I want it to be (it is)
  • Well, I already checked Facebook so I should check my sister's blog (nothing new)
  • I should look at my blog stats and see how many people have viewed it (only one)
  • I should post something to get people to read (and here we are now not even close to sleep)
I wonder what makes a good blog.  I think knowing about it is definitely a good thing but mainly I check blogs to find out about people's lives.  I guess my life just isn't that interesting or I'm not posting the things that really matter.  For one, I don't really publicize it but life is rough for everyone.  There are some things that have happened both recently and a long time ago that create some day to day struggles for me but that isn't something that I want everyone to know about.  They make me stronger but in a quiet way.  But since I don't want to end on such a somber note, I thought I would share a little anecdote from the evening since I am a college student and life is crazy here in P-town :)

Tonight I went to dinner with my roommates.  We decided to go to Target to get a chair that my roommate really wanted.  We started in the dollar section and one of my roommates found a lot of cute stuff for her class.  Then we went to the movies (my weakness) and all three of us ended up with at least two movies.  We then stopped at the towels where both of my roommates got bath sheets (Can I say I'm a little bit jealous? They looked really nice and soft.) We finally got to the chair area and they weren't there!!!  We wandered our way out and picked up a few more things (I got hangers since I've been one short since I moved here in August.)  We all checked out spending more money than planned and leaving without the one thing we had gone to get.  It made for a fun night.

Well that is my night and regardless of my current level of tiredness, I should still try to sleep.  4:00 is coming sooner than I'd like.

Better Late...

So I didn't realize how long it had been since I posted.  As you can tell, blogging is not something high on my list of priorities.  Between work, school, and trying to be social, I am pretty much booked all day long.  But I needed a quick break from homework so I thought I would post a little update on my life.
  • I am officially four weeks away from the end of the semester
  • I am almost completely registered for my last fall semester ever!
  • I have decided to move in August across the complex parking lot to a bigger apartment
  • I very much enjoyed my recent trip to Alabama to visit Aubree
  • I really don't think anyone reads this blog so I wonder why I do it.
Other than that... life is pretty much the same.  Maybe something cool will happen soon but for now I should probably get back to my vba assignment.
